PASTOR
STEVE BENNETT

 Stephen Bennett was born in Somerset, Kentucky in 1961 and has been a native of Russell County most of his life. Steve was raised in a Baptist church and gave his heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of eleven. Shortly after graduating Russell County high school he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanine Roy, to which two children were born, Bradley Eugene and Amanda Rena’. As a result of being active in church and being drawn closer to the Lord, Steve sang bass in a Southern-Gospel quartet called the Salemaires. It was during this time that the Lord called him to “preach His Word.” Steve ran from this call until January of 1998. However, during the time of running from the call God had placed on his life God used him and prepared him for ministry.

 He served more than eight years in the Gideon ministry, speaking in churches all over Kentucky and Tennessee and holding various leadership positions. He was also a youth pastor for approximately eight years at Pine Grove Baptist church where he was ordained as a Baptist Minister on October 25th of 1998. Since his ordination to the true calling upon his life Steve has been pastor of three Baptist churches before coming to Fairview. He has been on six short-term mission trips to Brazil, Poland and Russia.

 Steve is a graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville Kentucky and is currently bi-vocational with he and his wife owning a small business in Russell Springs. Steve also has a background in sales, marketing and design in various industries which he also attributes to his ministry preparation.
